Internet of Things

In the Internet of Things, or IoT for short, objects are given uniquely assignable identities and can thus communicate and accept commands.
Applications are automated and tasks can be completed without outside intervention.

The definition may differ, depending on the area of application and the technology used, e.g. IIoT, Industrial Internet of Things.
The Internet of Things is generally used as a term for networking objects of everyday use or machines in an industrial environment by means of the Internet.
