Machine data acquisition, MDE

The term machine data acquisition, MDE for short, stands for the interface between machines in production technology and information processing. The process of capturing, storing and providing information in a production and manufacturing environment is provided.
The first step towards digital production is digital data acquisition of machine data.
MDE is a subarea of BDE, the production data acquisition.

The goals of machine data collection include:

  • The optimization of runtimes
  • The analysis of processes
  • The evaluation of downtime
  • The reporting of faults
